 XPAINSTRESS©1996, 1998 ABOUT WHO WE ARE ADAPTIVE BEHAVIOR CENTERS, INC. - Administration New York (347) 454-4271 Miami (305) 454-4271 Fax (810) 452-6818
Welcome to ADAPTIVE BEHAVIOR CENTERS INC. We are an online telehealth treatment Internet service bureau, which began developing XPAIN/STRESS medical treatment trend analysis software approximately 20 years ago. Chronic pain and post traumatic stress patients can order an XPS Profile Narrative Report from their perspective with Body Map, General Status & Distress Scales under $40 (Click Here/Select XPS Samples & Contact on Menu) as an assessment directly for their use to study their condition in a scientific and therapeutic manner. One can also combine it with a Clinician Narrative Report to obtain their physician or therapist approval signature under $80 to use for their own purposes.
Reporting accuracy is monitored and supervised by a retired California and Pennsylvania psychologist, Doctor Nicholas Mancini, as Clinical Director. He holds two U. S. Copyrights on computerized chronic pain and stress monitoring, treatment outcomes trend analysis with body mapping diagram, a physical and emotional, mental and social effects questionnaire, and a stress audit combined with visual analog/verbal descriptor graphic scales. They are all well established reliable and valid treatment monitoring research tools in the medical sciences field. Our Clinical Director has acquired over 30 years of clinical experience in this area. He had been a Fellow Member of the Pennsylvania Psychological Association, and served several years as a Board Member of the Greater Philadelphia Pain Society (a branch of the American Pain Society). He had also obtained Diplomate status in behavioral medicine, counseling, and psychotherapy, and remains in retirement as a Charter Member Emeritus for life of the Association for Psychological Science (previously the American Psychological Society). He now practices privately as an existential behavior analyst. As our Clinical Director, he realizes how important detailed records for documentation of outcomes measurement and accountability are for providers in today's healthcare field. He has long maintained the following research observations that sparked the origination and development of XPAINSTRESS software:
Historically, patients have been largely passive recipients in the health care process. Until recently, they were generally uninformed about treatment alternatives with limited expectations largely controlled by providers (Ferguson, 1997). The current role and trend of health care consumerism has been described by Craig (1998) as moving away from the old model based on "professional authority" and progressing through the following phases: "professional as partner/coach" to participation in informal self-help networks, to "self-care"-proactive, individual information acquisition by patients as "consumer health informatics."
Consumerism in the health care field, and the direction it appears to be taking, has been summarized in a study by Northwestern University's Institute for Health Services, Research & Policy in Chicago, Illinois (KMPG, 1998). This national telephone survey outlined seven key implications:
- Today, consumers are making choices...... Tomorrow, health care organizations will build competitive advantage by enhancing choices....
- Today, consumers are looking for information in a sea of data. Tomorrow, highly informed consumers will enjoy access to an explosion of useful information.
- Today, many internal obstacles impede the path to consumer orientation. Tomorrow, organizational leaders will resolutely commit to building consumer oriented organizations.
- Today, partnerships between firms are almost all intra-industry-health care to health care. Tomorrow, the demands on health care organizations will require inter industry partnerships health care to non-health care...
- Today, organizations are beginning to use electronic media to transact business. Tomorrow, electronic commerce will be routine. It will establish extraordinary consumer expectations for speed, access and convenience.
- Today, the Internet, telemedicine, telephone, and fax are beginning to eradicate the geographic boundaries separating competitors. Tomorrow, electronics will reorganize, nationalize and internationalize historically local services.

Today, new and redesigned products enter the market at a measured pace. Tomorrow, new and redesigned products will enter the market at a rapid pace. In very recent encouraging research among people suffering from chronic pain, those who faced some adversity in their lives had better mobility than those with none (Seery, 2011). In this University of Buffalo study, experiencing some such difficulties allows people to develop coping skills and teaches them to seek help when they need it. References

Telehealth Service Bureau, Adaptive Behavior CentersTM program can administer by electronic data transmission X Pain Stress © Copyrighted (1996, 1998) Software preliminary assessment inventory items over the Internet and right in the health care provider/researchers' office without the use of office staff. They can be completed securely on their office computer, or within the patient/research subject home by real time, instant messaging, videoconference, or for added privacy telephone with hardcopy fax back of PDF file reports upon receiving completed individual XP/S software program item responses. XPAINSTRESS computerized software reports consist of a basic demographic and medical/insurance record XP/S profile, a standardized XP/S body map diagram for designating precise pain location and nature, a research evidence-based XP/S functional inventory that contains a 30 item valid pain/stress XP/S questionnaire, a universal XP/S distress impact assessment, along with several 10 cm XP/S visual analog/verbal descriptor scales, and a XP/S mood checklist. A compiliation of this data is provided in a 5-7 page XP/S Narrative Report. Pain migration patterns and treatment outcomes are indicated by XP/S trend analysis of chronic pain/stress effects on the body and nervous systems with repeated administration when data is accumulated on a regular basis. Additional documentation may also be included in the form of a XP/S pain diary for personal patient therapeutic use or clinician office progress notation. The printed reports can be forwarded by fax, email, or First Class USPS to the patient, provider or researcher for patient/client signature or numbered to preserve confidentiality when research is conducted. In addition to a clinician or research narrative report, our innovative XP/S software product can also provide actual patient/client expression directly from their own perspective in the first person as a composite XP/S narrative report of their chronic pain and stressful ordeal.
One can become a local area Associate of Adaptive Behavior Centers, Inc. and collaborate further on Clinician Administration for chronic pain/stress management therapeutic purposes. Inherent within XPAINSTRESS recording forms and inventories are potential cognitive restructuring tools for the patient/client with behavior modification effects when used repeatedly. The Virtual XP/S Associate may also maintain and store treatment outcomes XP/S Trend Analysis and other XP/S software data features outlined above for unlimited recording sessions within our computer locked vault independent of clinician office medical records. It is noteworthy that all patient email must otherwise be placed in physician/therapist files under the law in most states and becomes part of their medical record. After viewing a patient/client series of treatment sessions, an Associate can fully utilize its software generated data analysis of outcomes assessment information stored on own computer mainframe. With our periodic XP/S consultation report services fee agreement and no capital investment, more extensive documentation can also be obtained with this professional to professional service that includes additional reports such as XPS Musculoskeletal Evaluation and XPS Interim Medical Evaluation data reports, as well as XPS Mental Status and XPS Personality Disorder diagnostic impression graphic reports. In addition, we provide online private comprehensive professional to professional research assessment for any specific illness, disability or chronic medical condition with numerous other non-XP/S research validated instruments available within our library database.
Results of these alternative standardized computer assessment tools to record chronic pain and stress may then be utilized as hardcopy medical documentation for CPT reimbursement when entered into their medical record. Contact Joe More for further information at:

XPAIN/STRESS software-driven XP/S Telehealth Internet Services Bureau Preliminary Assessment Online in general, may simply be understood as an efficient, very user friendly, computer-aided Internet patient monitoring and treatment trend/outcomes data analysis program that is particularly helpful in these areas to health care providers and researchers as well as managed care specialists with cost containment as a major concern. No use of hospital or research personnel required. Health care recipients are allowed to prepare and maintain their own systematic medical records for secure electronic data transmission, and study their treatment effects and outcomes in a scientific manner. In this manner, they may choose to disclose their unique, chronic pain or protracted stress experience or not. Potential proven therapeutic effects well known in the medical field are to be derived from regular monitoring, re-evaluation with self reinforcement of adaptation that can perhaps lead to mastery of the chronic pain or protracted stress ordeal. Combining the ARIMA (AUTO REGRESSIVE INTEGRATED MOVING AVERAGE) statistical model with advanced, GUI (graphic user interface) computer technology within all XPAIN/STRESS copyrighted software editions, therapists, hospitals and researchers can indirectly control the management and analysis of clinical data without requiring any knowledge of or the use of computer programming. We provide each user a basic Electronic Health record (EHR) of patient/client information. We combine results of surveys and prepare colored pie charts and graphs of individual and/or group clinical outcome as research findings in a time series. We capture data at the point of care with XPAIN/STRESS software as documentary, standardized, forms-based monitoring/evaluation and therapeutic self reporting instruments of clinical status with initial and repeated administration to the patient, client or research subject. Thereupon, hard copy printout for validation signature of both concurrent and repreated outcomes measurement data provide a computerized, raw data collection and treatment trend analysis record for quality assurance with universal application. Using information the patient/client encounters as data across the continuum of care, trend evaluation of changes in treatment by computer analysis contrasts their impact on several other therapeutic variables that can affect patient clinical outcome and the present course of care. If distribution of firsthand data and graphs to end line users is desired, providers can document the quality of their health care or one, including the patient/client, may simply provide helpful clinical grade information for interdisciplinary team building of critical treatment pathways.
